<title>Weather Forces One Day Delay For Shuttle Endeavour's Launch On STS-130</title>
<link>http://thespacearium.com/article.php?story=20100207173244774</link>
<description>KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL - Following an extremely smooth countdown, launch of space shuttle Endeavour was scrubbed in the final minutes of the countdown this morning due to thick clouds that drifted over Kennedy Space Center, violating the launch and abort landing rules for thick clouds and low cloud ceiling in the vicinity of the launch pad and landing runway. Mission managers have reset the shuttle for a second launch attempt Monday morning at 4:14:07. The weather forecast calls for a 60% chance of favorable conditions for launch.

<title>NASA Budget Request Kills Constellation, Sets Agency On New Course Amidst Uncertainty</title>
<link>http://thespacearium.com/article.php?story=20100206140133547</link>
<description>WASHINGTON, DC - Confirming rumors that have been making the rounds over the past few days, The White House released its Fiscal Year 2011 budget request today which kills NASA's Constellation program in its entirety, and with it the agency's goal of returning humans to the surface of the Moon. Instead, NASA will extend the lifespan of the International Space Station until 2020, invest &#36;6 billion in the development of commercial crew and cargo carrying launch vehicles and advanced technologies to enable future heavy-lift launch systems. The radical departure from the course NASA has been on for the past 6 years is being described by the agency as a "bold and exciting" new direction for the United States space program.DOCUMENTS:READ: OMB NASA FY 2011 BUDGET FACT SHEETREAD: OMB NASA FY 2011 BUDGET REQUESTREAD: OMB FY 2011 CANCELLATIONS AND TERMINATIONSREAD: NASA FY 2011 BUDGET OVERVIEWREAD: REMARKS BY NASA ADMINISTRATOR CHARLIE BOLDENREAD: REMARKS BY NASA DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR LORI GARVERREAD: NASA OSTP &AMP; JOINT FACT SHEETREAD: NASA &AMP; OSTP JOINT STATEMENTREAD: INVESTING IN THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF AMERICAN INNOVATIONREAD: STATEMENT BY NORMAN AUGUSTINEREAD: STATEMENT BY BUZZ ALDRINREAD: GAO REPORT NASA MANAGEMENT OF LARGE-SCALE PROJECTS - HIGHLIGHTSREAD: GAO REPORT NASA MANAGEMENT OF LARGE-SCALE PROJECTSREAD: NASA SPENDING OVER THE YEARS (.CSV FILE)READ: U.S. REP.
