Despite the fact that the Obama Administration is pushing to cancel NASA's Constellation program and its Ares rockets, today NASA and ATK Aerospace Systems successfully completed a two-minute, full-scale test of the solid rocket booster that's being designed to power the first stage of the Ares I launch vehicle. The test, named Development Motor-2 (DM-2) was the second successful static test Ares five-segment reusable solid rocket motor derived from the four-segment boosters used in the space shuttle program.
